Fennel Pear Salad

This Fennel Pear Salad has many health benefits from fennel, pear, orange and walnuts. You can even customize it and add spinach or other green leaves.
Fennel Pear Salad

This Fennel Pear Salad is one of my favorite salads. Packed with vitamins and nutrients, this salad is a great choice for lunch or for a good healthy dinner. Eating more raw food can be beneficial for your overall health. According to a study, over 75% of our consumed food should be raw.

Fennel Pear Salad can be even improvised and add a couple of green leaves such as watercress, rocket, tatsoi, or spinach.

Yields1 Serving
Prep Time15 minsTotal Time15 mins

 1 cup fennel finely sliced
 1 pear, sliced finely
1 orange, remove the segments from the pith
 2 tbsp walnuts or pecans
a handful of olives, remove the pits and chop them
 2 tbsp capers, optional
a couple of cups of green leaves. - rocket, tatsoi, watercress or spinach
 citrus-based dressing
¼ sea salt and pepper to taste

1

First, chop the fennel on a cutting board and add it to a bowl.

2

Peel the orange and remove the segments from the pith. You can save the juice during that and add it later to the dressing or just to the salad itself.

3

Wash and cut the pear into pieces and add them to the bowl.

4

Chop the pecans and add them to the bowl.

5

Mix well and serve right away.

6

If you don't have a citrus dressing you can just use plain vinaigrettes such as one with just lemon juice, olive, and salt.
